Annual Pancake Breakfast

March 13, 2010 Icard Fire will host
their Annual Pancake Breakfast
from 6:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Tickets
are available from Icard
Firefighters or can be purchased
at the station. Ticket cost is $6.00
for a buffet meal ticket and $1.00
for a Raffle ticket. A Raffle will be
held for $100.00. Pancakes,
sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy
and eggs are among some of the
items that will be on the menu.

Structure Fire - Tailored Foam, Long View
1-24-2010
At approximately 1804 HRS Icard Township Fire / Rescue responded automatic mutual
aid to Long View for a reported structure fire. The first arriving Long View unit found a
26,000 SF commercial structure, well involved. It took over an hour for crews to gain
control of the fire. Haz - Mat Crews responded due to chemical storage at the facility. It
took several hours to overhaul the structure. Catawba County and Burke County Fire
Marshal's Office, NCSBI and the ATF assisted with investigations.

Fire Grant Awarded to Icard Township Fire / Rescue
1-29-2010
Icard Township Fire / Rescue received a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland
Security. This grant was given in the first round of distributions from the "
AFG",
Assistance to Firefighters Grant this year. The amount awarded was $39,349. The grant
money will be used to replace fire hoses and nozzles. This is the 6th time ITFR has

Residential Structure Fire - Mutual Aid to Long View
2-13-2010
At approximately 2215 HRS Icard Township Fire / Rescue responded automatic mutual
aid to Long View Fire for a reported residential structure fire. The first arriving Long
View Unit confirmed a working fire and requested a second alarm. Weather conditions
hampered fire suppression efforts. The fire was brought under control in 30 minutes.
The fire is still under investigation.

Fire Control Class - LP Burn
2-13-2010
Firefighters from Icard and other agencies participated in a LP Burn on February 13,
2010 at Icard Township Fire / Rescue. This burn was one of several events for
firefighters enrolled in a Fire Control class. This is around a 40 hour class for students.
 
Dust Bin Fire - Lexington Furniture
2-17-2010
At approximately 1532 HRS Icard Township Fire / Rescue responded to a reported
commercial structure fire. The first arriving unit found a dust bin trailer against the
structure on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished. The trailer was pulled away from
the building after being extinguished to check for hot spots in the saw dust.

Fire Alarm - Baker Furniture
2-18-2010
At approximately 1214 HRS Icard Township Fire / Rescue responded to a reported
commercial fire alarm. The first arriving unit reported nothing showing from the
exterior. Firefighters checked the dust bin area and duct work where the area of
activation occurred and nothing was found present in any areas of the system.

Residential Structure Fire
3-1-2010
At approximately 1134 HRS Icard Township Fire / Rescue responded to a reported
structure fire. The first arriving unit found a working mobile home fire and a second
alarm was requested. Firefighter gained control of the fire within minutes after arriving.
